CALL FOR PAPERS

4th International Clivia Conference, CLIVIA 2006
Pretoria, South Africa
September 6-7, 2006

On behalf of the organising committee, you are invited to submit an abstract for consideration for presentation at the 4th International Clivia Conference, CLIVIA 2006, to be held in Pretoria, on the 6th & 7th September this year.

The theme of the conference is the diversity of the genus, and what can arise from that diversity. In keeping with this theme, CLIVIA 2006 aims to present a variety of papers from both researchers in academia as well as Clivia growers on a range of topics. These will include the latest results of DNA research, breeding for specific traits such as flower colour or leaf width, and other interesting topics, as well as discussing the spread and diversity of the genus outside its native continent.

Past conferences have had attendees from South Africa, Australia, Germany, Japan, New Zealand, Switzerland, the Netherlands, the USA and the United Kingdom. Attendees have included both enthusiasts and academics, and each year attendance increases.

We are hoping to publish papers presented at the conference in the annual yearbook of the Clivia Society, CLIVIA 8, the publication of which will be timed to coincide with the conference.

If you are planning on attending the conference, and perhaps one or more of the habitat tours which have been arranged, and would like to present an illustrated talk at the conference, please complete the abstract submission form
